SWEETS FOR GRANNY

One Day I Received A Phone Call From My Grandmother, Who Lives In Spain, Asking Me If We Could Organise A Cakes And Tea Party For Her And Her Friends  When She Would Come To Antwerp.

As A Little Girls , Before They Moved To Spain, My Sisters And I Used To Spend A Lot Of Time At Our Grandparents. Our Grandmother Would Take Us To The Tennis Club, Where Most Of Her Friends Were. It Was Always Lots Of Fun.

A Few Years Ago They All Came To The Restaurant Where Francesco And I Were Working. It Was So Nice To See Them Again, And For Them To See Me All Grown Up And Married Was A Big Change. These Ladies Are So Much Fun, It’s Like They Are Still Young Girls. So Organising An Afternoon Tea Party Was A Great Pleasure And Also Meant Time With My Granny.

As A Welcome, We Served Them Some Delicious Prosecco Followed By A Table Full Of Sweets And Coffee Made With Our Amaing “ La Marzocco ” Machine. The Table Consisted Of Mini Tiramisu, Mini Rose Panna Cotta And Mini  Raspberry Mousse And Fresh Fruit Salad With Fizzy Raspberry Coulis. For Pastry’s We Had A Salty Caramel Pecan Pie (Oh My God It Is So Delicious), Lemon Meringue Cupcakes, Cantuccini And Scones With Different Marmelades And A Tomatoe Chutney. Since One Was Allergic To Gluten, I Tried Out A Recipe For Glutenfree Cookies With Tahini And Quinoa, Which Ended Up Being My Favourites.

Everything Decorated In Style With Flowers And Little Details.

Thank You Granny For Letting Us Organise You Afternoon Tea Party. It Was Such A Pleasure .
